At ABI, no phase of operation or administration is of greater importance than our safety policy which embodies the prevention of accidental injury, property damage and occupational illness.
Our policy is to provide and maintain safe and healthful jobsite workplaces and to follow operating practices that result in safe working conditions and efficient operation. Safety always takes precedence over expediency.
Every employee on our projects is obligated to conform to the requirements of the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Act, as well as our own safety program. Now, with the advent of the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard, we also place emphasis on the dangers associated with various hazardous chemicals that may be in use on our jobsites.
But at ABI, safety is our number one priority not only in order to comply with applicable laws and regulations but because it’s the most efficient way to do business. We place safety above all else because it’s right.
Every ABI employee understands his or her personal responsibility with respect to safety and all supervisory employees accept the responsibility for the prevention of accidents and illness and the safety of the work under their direction.
As an additional measure to help ensure that our jobsites are safe, we contract with a third party safety management company which routinely inspects all our jobsites and provides full reports to senior management. Each report is immediately channeled to the appropriate Project Manager and Superintendent and any necessary corrective action is taken.
We know that the result of our safety and health efforts will affect our overall success. Our goal is to achieve accident- and illness-free work with traditional ABI quality.
